NASCAR Fun League Rules for 2007 Season
Schedule
- Only the 36 official points races in the NASCAR season will be scored.
- There will be three sessions of 10 races each, followed by a 6 race playoff.
- Top 5 teams not already qualified for the “A” playoff in each of the three sessions gets into the “A” playoffs
- The remaining teams (9 in this 2007 season) will compete for the B trophy
- The top 3 finishers in each session earn 15, 10, and 5 bonus points respectively. Bonus points will be applied at the beginning of the playoffs.
- At the end of each session we all go back to zero points and start over.
Teams
- Teams consist of 3 drivers, with one “Favorite” or #1 driver, a #2 driver, and a #3 driver.
- Two teams may have the same drivers but not in the same order.
- One driver may be replaced or the order of drivers may be changed once for any reason up to the start of the 6 race playoff.
Points
- 15 points for each drivers finish in the top 5.
- 10 points for each finish in 6-10 position.
- 5 points for each finish in 11-15 position.
- 10 points if the #1 Favorite driver WINS the race.
- 5 points if one of the other two drivers wins the race.
510 points if drivers finish in the correct order, even if it’s 40th, 41st and 42nd.
Commissioner’s note 6/7/2007: The scorekeeping program has been awarding 10 points for in-order finishes all year (just like last year) and we’re lazy, so we’re changing the rules instead of recalculating the scores.
