Rules

NASCAR Fun League Rules for 2007 Season

Schedule

  • Only the 36 official points races in the NASCAR season will be scored.
  • There will be three sessions of 10 races each, followed by a 6 race playoff.
  • Top 5 teams not already qualified for the “A” playoff in each of the three sessions gets into the “A” playoffs
  • The remaining teams (9 in this 2007 season) will compete for the B trophy
  • The top 3 finishers in each session earn 15, 10, and 5 bonus points respectively. Bonus points will be applied at the beginning of the playoffs.
  • At the end of each session we all go back to zero points and start over.

Teams

  • Teams consist of 3 drivers, with one “Favorite” or #1 driver, a #2 driver, and a #3 driver.
  • Two teams may have the same drivers but not in the same order.
  • One driver may be replaced or the order of drivers may be changed once for any reason up to the start of the 6 race playoff.

Points

  • 15 points for each drivers finish in the top 5.
  • 10 points for each finish in 6-10 position.
  • 5 points for each finish in 11-15 position.
  • 10 points if the #1 Favorite driver WINS the race.
  • 5 points if one of the other two drivers wins the race.
  • 5 10 points if drivers finish in the correct order, even if it’s 40th, 41st and 42nd.

Commissioner’s note 6/7/2007: The scorekeeping program has been awarding 10 points for in-order finishes all year (just like last year) and we’re lazy, so we’re changing the rules instead of recalculating the scores.
